The Role
As an Entry-Level Government Employee, you will support various municipal departments including City Hall, Public Works, and Community Services. You will be the face of the city, assisting citizens with inquiries and ensuring our operations run smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Receive and screen incoming mail, emails, and phone calls, directing them to the appropriate department or staff member.
- Assist the public with document requests, permit applications, and general information inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate digital and physical records for city departments.
- Prepare correspondence, memos, reports, and presentations using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Monitor and maintain office supplies, ensuring efficient workflow for the administrative team.
- Attend staff meetings and assist in organizing community events and city functions.
- Support senior staff with special projects and ad-hoc administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
- Previous experience in an administrative, customer service, or office support role is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to type 35+ words per minute.
- Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license and have a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
