Responsibilities
- Process Pension Applications: Review and verify initial retirement applications for accuracy, ensuring compliance with federal and state pension regulations.
- Data Entry & Management: Maintain and update accurate records within our secure pension database systems, handling sensitive financial data with strict confidentiality.
- Member Inquiries: Assist retirees and government employees via email and phone regarding their pension eligibility, vesting schedules, and benefit calculations.
- Compliance Auditing: Conduct routine audits of pension files to identify discrepancies and ensure adherence to government accounting standards.
- Report Generation: Assist senior analysts in preparing statistical reports on pension fund performance and demographic trends.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the HR and Legal departments to resolve complex benefit discrepancies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Public Administration, Accounting, or a related field (equivalent experience will be considered).
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass a background check.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with database management software.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to perform high-volume data entry with zero errors.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of explaining complex financial concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Soft Skills: High level of integrity, professionalism, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
