Responsibilities
- Process pension enrollments, terminations, and benefit adjustments according to City policies
- Respond to member inquiries via phone, email, and in-person consultations
- Maintain accurate pension records using proprietary software and Excel databases
- Prepare monthly reports for actuarial reviews and audits
- Assist with open enrollment events and retirement planning workshops
- Collaborate with HR and Finance departments on policy updates
- Ensure compliance with California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) regulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- No prior experience required – we train all new hires
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required)
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Valid California driver's license (for occasional off-site meetings)
- U.S. citizenship or legal authorization to work in the U.S.
