Responsibilities
- Process Retirement Applications: Review and process incoming pension and retirement benefit requests with high accuracy and efficiency.
- Data Management: Maintain and update retirement records in our internal database, ensuring data integrity and compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Customer Support: Assist retirees and employees with inquiries regarding pension estimates, eligibility, and benefit calculations.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all processing adheres to CalPERS guidelines and local government employment laws.
- Report Generation: Assist senior analysts in preparing monthly and quarterly reports on pension activity and status.
- File Maintenance: Organize and secure physical and digital files related to employee retirement history and contributions.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy when working with numbers and sensitive personal data.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities to interact effectively with the public and government staff.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with database systems is highly preferred.
- Integrity: Ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
