Responsibilities
- Calculate and process pension benefits for retirees using complex actuarial formulas and state guidelines.
- Analyze pension data to identify trends and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Communicate effectively with beneficiaries regarding eligibility, vesting, and payment schedules.
- Collaborate with the Virginia branch office to standardize pension administration processes.
- Review and update internal documentation regarding retirement plans and eligibility criteria.
- Conduct audits of pension records to mitigate financial risk and ensure data integrity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Accounting, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in government benefits, pension administration, or financial analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and SQL.
- Strong understanding of ERISA regulations and state retirement systems.
- Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment (Charlotte, NC & Virginia).
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
