Responsibilities
- Assist in the intake, processing, and review of pension benefit applications and related documentation.
- Communicate with retirees, employees, and external agencies to resolve inquiries regarding eligibility, vesting, and benefit calculations.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records within the state pension database and filing systems.
- Support internal audits and compliance checks by preparing necessary reports and verifying data integrity.
- Collaborate with senior analysts to develop and update retirement plan materials and informational guides.
- Perform data entry and verification tasks to ensure system accuracy and adherence to state regulations.
- Participate in training sessions to stay updated on changes in retirement legislation and agency policies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Finance, Business, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in high-volume data processing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced office setting.
- Must be willing to undergo a criminal background check and fingerprinting as required by state law.
