Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of food establishments, childcare facilities, and public swimming pools
- Investigate public health complaints and enforce local/state regulations
- Develop and deliver educational programs for businesses and community groups
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain regulatory compliance databases
- Collaborate with state health agencies on emerging public health threats
- Participate in emergency response planning for environmental hazards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or related field
- Certified Environmental Health Specialist (CEHS) credential preferred
- Minimum 2 years regulatory compliance or public health experience
- Strong knowledge of Nebraska health codes and EPA regulations
- Excellent communication skills for public education and enforcement
- Valid Nebraska driver's license with clean driving record
