Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of food service establishments, childcare facilities, and public accommodations
- Investigate public health complaints and enforce regulatory standards
- Provide technical guidance to businesses on sanitation and safety protocols
- Collect and analyze environmental samples for water quality, air quality, and pest control
- Develop educational programs for industry professionals and community stakeholders
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain compliance documentation
- Collaborate with state agencies on emerging public health initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or related field
- NEHA Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in environmental health or regulatory compliance
- Strong knowledge of FDA Food Code and Nevada health regulations
- Excellent communication skills for public education and conflict resolution
- Valid Nevada driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Proficiency in regulatory reporting software and data analysis tools
