Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive environmental policies aligned with California state regulations and federal guidelines
- Analyze climate data to inform greenhouse gas reduction strategies and sustainability initiatives
- Coordinate interdepartmental environmental compliance programs for municipal operations
- Prepare grant proposals and manage environmental project budgets
- Conduct environmental impact assessments for urban development projects
- Educate stakeholders on environmental regulations and sustainability best practices
- Monitor emerging environmental technologies and recommend policy adaptations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in environmental policy development or municipal sustainability
- Expertise in California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and federal environmental regulations
- Advanced proficiency in environmental data analysis tools (GIS, statistical software)
- Proven track record in grant writing and project management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with policy development experience
- Valid California driver's license with clean driving record
