Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of water bodies, wetlands, and coastal zones to assess environmental health
- Analyze pollution data and prepare compliance reports for state and federal regulations
- Collaborate with local businesses to implement eco-friendly waste management practices
- Develop educational materials for community environmental awareness initiatives
- Coordinate emergency response for environmental incidents and hazardous material spills
- Review development proposals for ecological impact and permitting compliance
- Maintain accurate records of environmental monitoring activities and violations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in environmental compliance or conservation
- Valid Florida driver's license with clean driving record
- Proficiency with GIS mapping and environmental data analysis software
- Strong knowledge of Florida's environmental regulations (Chapter 62-620, F.A.C.)
- Certification in Hazardous Materials Management (HAZWOPER) preferred
- Excellent written communication skills for technical reports and public outreach
- Ability to work in field conditions with varying weather and terrain
