Responsibilities
- Lead compliance inspections for industrial facilities in Wayne County
- Develop and implement pollution prevention programs for Detroit businesses
- Coordinate with local governments on brownfield redevelopment projects
- Manage public outreach initiatives for environmental education
- Analyze water quality data from Detroit River tributaries
- Prepare regulatory reports and enforcement documentation
- Mentor junior staff on environmental regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field
- 5+ years of regulatory compliance experience
- Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) preferred
- Advanced knowledge of MDEQ and EPA regulations
- Strong data analysis and GIS mapping skills
- Experience with public speaking and community engagement
- Valid Michigan driver's license
- Ability to lift 25 lbs for field inspections
