Responsibilities
- Monitor and control air traffic within assigned airspace using radar and visual references
- Issue clearances, instructions, and advisories to pilots to ensure safe separation between aircraft
- Coordinate with adjacent control facilities and other agencies for seamless traffic flow
- Respond to emergency situations and implement contingency procedures
- Maintain accurate radar logs and communications records
- Participate in recurrent training to maintain certification proficiency
- Collaborate with team members to optimize weekend shift operations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Pass FAA Air Traffic Controller pre-employment medical examination
- Ability to obtain and maintain FAA Air Traffic Control Specialist certification
- Strong communication skills and ability to make quick decisions under pressure
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Availability to work rotating weekend shifts (Sat/Sun)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
- Proficient in English with excellent verbal/written communication skills
