Responsibilities
- Conduct rigorous inspections of aircraft maintenance facilities and repair stations
- Investigate aviation incidents and ensure compliance with FAA regulations (Part 43, Part 145)
- Review and approve maintenance procedures, technical orders, and airworthiness directives
- Perform surveillance of aviation maintenance personnel and their qualifications
- Collaborate with industry stakeholders to promote safety culture and regulatory compliance
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and enforcement actions when necessary
- Provide technical guidance and training to aviation industry professionals
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, or related field
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) mechanic certification required
- Minimum 5 years aviation maintenance experience with complex aircraft systems
- Knowledge of FAA regulations (14 CFR Parts 1, 43, 61, 65, 91, 121, 135)
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in safety investigation techniques
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
- Excellent communication skills with ability to prepare technical documentation
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
