Responsibilities
- Manage and process federal employee benefit requests and retirement applications with high accuracy and adherence to federal guidelines.
- Conduct comprehensive orientation sessions for new hires regarding federal compensation, leave policies, and wellness programs.
- Analyze pay grades and GS schedules to ensure accurate salary adjustments and benefits calculations.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with federal privacy regulations, including the Privacy Act and FERPA.
- Collaborate with HR departments to resolve complex compensation and benefits inquiries from federal employees.
- Update internal databases and documentation to reflect current legislative changes in federal employment law and benefit structures.
- Prepare monthly reports on benefits utilization and employee satisfaction metrics.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources, Benefits Administration, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS), CSRS, and Civil Service rules.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex regulations to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in HRIS software (e.g., PeopleSoft, Workday) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to pass a federal background check and security clearance evaluation.
