Responsibilities
- Review and process federal employee benefit applications, retirement claims, and eligibility requests with high accuracy.
- Verify documentation and ensure strict adherence to federal regulations and agency policies.
- Provide exceptional customer service and technical assistance to federal staff regarding health insurance, leave balances, and retirement planning.
- Maintain accurate, secure, and up-to-date digital and physical records for all personnel files.
- Collaborate with HR teams to resolve complex benefits discrepancies and policy questions.
- Conduct orientations for new hires, explaining the federal benefits landscape and enrollment processes.
- Assist in the implementation of new federal compliance software and update internal knowledge bases.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in administrative support, benefits administration, or customer service.
- Familiarity with federal regulations (e.g., OPM, FERS, FEHB) is highly desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex policies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and federal HR software (e.g., PeopleSoft, Workday).
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
