Responsibilities
- Conduct initial and follow-up interviews with claimants to gather essential information for disability and retirement benefit claims.
- Review and analyze complex case documentation to determine eligibility for federal programs in strict accordance with SSA regulations.
- Compose clear, accurate, and professional written responses to correspondence and inquiries from the public.
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of sensitive federal records and personal data.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of federal professionals to resolve case discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files using electronic filing systems and database management tools.
- Adhere to all agency policies, safety protocols, and quality assurance standards.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship: Must be a United States citizen or national.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a Federal background investigation, including fingerprinting and security clearance.
- Communication: Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex policies to diverse audiences.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and the ability to spot errors in data and documentation.
- Availability: Must be available to work the assigned weekend shift schedule (Saturday and Sunday).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field; or High School Diploma with significant relevant experience.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and federal case management software.
