Responsibilities
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on federal networks.
- Monitor security alerts and respond to incidents using SIEM tools like Splunk or QRadar.
- Enforce security policies and compliance frameworks such as NIST 800-53 and FISMA.
- Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion prevention systems (IPS).
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security best practices into network architecture.
- Prepare and present security posture reports to senior leadership and government stakeholders.
- Perform technical audits to ensure adherence to government regulations.
Qualifications
- Active Secret or Top Secret Security Clearance (or eligibility to obtain).
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in federal or DoD environments.
- Certifications: CISSP, CISM, Security+, or CEH preferred.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash) and Linux administration.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP, and cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for stakeholder reporting.
