Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain electronic health records (EHR) systems in compliance with VA and federal standards
- Implement HIPAA regulations and data security protocols for sensitive veteran health information
- Analyze healthcare data to support clinical decision-making and operational improvements
- Train staff on health information management systems and best practices
- Collaborate with IT and clinical teams to optimize EHR functionality
- Conduct regular audits of health records for accuracy and regulatory compliance
- Develop reports on healthcare utilization and quality metrics for leadership review
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Health Informatics, or related field
- Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification required
- Minimum 3 years experience in healthcare data management or EHR systems
- Proficiency in federal healthcare regulations (HIPAA, VA directives, 21st Century Cures Act)
- Advanced knowledge of health data analytics and reporting tools
- Experience with Epic or similar EHR platforms
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision
