Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact for patients visiting the facility on weekends, providing courteous and efficient service.
- Register patients for appointments, verify eligibility, and input data accurately into the Veterans Health Information Systems.
- Answer inquiries regarding patient records, appointments, and hospital services with professionalism and discretion.
- Maintain the integrity of patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and VA policies.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth operations and patient flow during high-volume weekend periods.
- Process insurance verification and financial clearance for patients scheduled for the weekend.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service, reception, or administrative support.
- Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new electronic health record systems quickly.
- Ability to work rotating weekend shifts, including Saturdays and Sundays, as required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
