Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain electronic health records (EHR) systems in compliance with VA policies
- Ensure data integrity and security of patient information following HIPAA standards
- Coordinate health information exchange between medical departments and external partners
- Implement and audit health information management workflows
- Train staff on EHR systems and compliance procedures
- Generate reports for healthcare quality improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with IT and clinical teams on system upgrades
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- 3+ years of EHR system management experience
- Expert knowledge of HIPAA and VA health record regulations
- Proficiency in Epic or similar EHR platforms
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
