Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate public health policies addressing chronic disease prevention and health equity
- Analyze epidemiological data to inform evidence-based policy recommendations
- Coordinate interagency initiatives for public health emergency preparedness
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs and legislative testimony for state officials
- Manage stakeholder engagement with community organizations and healthcare providers
- Monitor federal and state regulatory changes affecting public health programs
- Lead community needs assessments for underserved populations
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Public Policy, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in government or non-profit health policy development
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (SPSS, R, or SAS)
- Demonstrated experience with health equity initiatives
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Valid Illinois driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to obtain security clearance for sensitive data access
