Responsibilities
- Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify potential risks.
- Monitor network traffic and system logs for suspicious activity and security breaches.
- Implement and maintain security controls in strict compliance with federal standards (e.g., NIST, FedRAMP).
- Respond to and investigate security incidents, ensuring timely containment and resolution.
- Develop, document, and update information security policies, procedures, and standards.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure configuration of hardware and software systems.
- Conduct security awareness training for staff members.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Active Federal Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain one prior to start.
- 3+ years of experience in information security, network security, or a related IT field.
- Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST 800-53, FISMA, and ISO 27001.
- Familiarity with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and vulnerability scanners (e.g., Nessus).
- Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and encryption technologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting findings to stakeholders.
