Responsibilities
- Conduct 24/7 monitoring of federal information systems to detect security breaches, intrusions, and anomalous network traffic.
- Analyze system logs, firewall data, and intrusion detection systems to identify potential vulnerabilities and respond to incidents.
- Enforce compliance with federal regulations, including NIST 800-53 and FISMA standards, during night operations.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and security configuration reviews on critical infrastructure.
- Document security events, create incident reports, and coordinate with federal counterparts during off-hours emergencies.
- Maintain and update security policies and procedures to ensure continuous protection of classified and sensitive data.
- Collaborate with the day shift team to hand over security status reports and ensure seamless continuity of operations.
Qualifications
- Clearance: Active Top Secret Security Clearance (or eligibility to obtain one) is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Information Security or Network Administration within a federal or defense contractor environment.
- Certifications: CISSP, Security+, or GSEC certification preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar), firewall management, and network protocols (TCP/IP).
- Availability: Must be available to work rotating night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by federal mission needs.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting security incidents.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
