Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain federal cybersecurity protocols across classified and unclassified systems
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on government networks
- Develop incident response plans and lead security breach mitigation efforts
- Collaborate with federal agencies to ensure compliance with NIST and FISMA standards
- Train federal employees on security best practices and threat awareness
- Monitor security alerts using SIEM platforms and forensic investigation tools
- Document security incidents and prepare comprehensive compliance reports
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Active Security+ CE or CISSP certification
- 3+ years experience in federal IT security environments
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and vulnerability scanners
- Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 controls framework
- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance
- Experience with cloud security architectures (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Strong analytical skills and threat intelligence interpretation
