Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and implementation of enterprise-wide software solutions for state agencies.
- Ensure the security, integrity, and availability of mission-critical data systems.
- Conduct system performance analysis, capacity planning, and troubleshooting to optimize operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Mentor junior developers and IT staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee the execution of external IT contracts.
- Comply with all federal and state cybersecurity regulations and compliance standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development or systems administration.
- Strong proficiency in Python, Java, or .NET programming languages.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of network architecture, database management, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Ability to obtain a New York State Public Officer License (if applicable).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
