Responsibilities
- Monitor and defend federal networks against cyber threats during night shift hours (11 PM - 7 AM)
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and implement security protocols for classified systems
- Collaborate with cross-agency teams during security incidents and emergency response
- Maintain compliance with Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) standards
- Document security events and prepare detailed incident reports for leadership review
- Train junior staff on security protocols and best practices
Qualifications
- Active U.S. government security clearance (or ability to obtain one)
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in network security or IT operations
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, ArcSight) and intrusion detection systems
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours with minimal supervision
- Experience with federal IT infrastructure standards (NIST, FIPS)
