Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain federal IT systems including network infrastructure and cybersecurity protocols
- Provide technical support for VA healthcare applications and data management systems
- Implement and monitor compliance with federal IT security standards (NIST, FISMA)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system upgrades and disaster recovery planning
- Document system configurations and troubleshoot technical issues
- Support VA's transition to cloud-based technologies and modern IT platforms
- Ensure HIPAA compliance for veteran healthcare data systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in federal IT systems administration
- Active security clearance (or ability to obtain one)
- Proficiency with Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies
- Certification in CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent
- Experience with federal IT compliance frameworks (FISMA, NIST)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain VA-specific IT credentials
