Responsibilities
- Network Administration: Manage and maintain local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN) to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Cybersecurity: Implement and monitor security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls, to protect federal data.
- System Support: Provide Tier 3 support for hardware and software issues, troubleshooting complex technical problems for end-users.
- Compliance: Ensure all IT activities comply with federal regulations, including FISMA, NIST, and ITIL best practices.
- Project Management: Assist in the planning and execution of IT infrastructure upgrades and software deployments.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of system configurations, incident reports, and technical documentation.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Clearance: Active Secret Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain one) is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT systems administration, network engineering, or cybersecurity.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server, Linux, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure). Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) is essential.
- Certifications: ITIL Foundation certification or CompTIA Security+ is preferred.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work well under pressure in a team-oriented environment.
