Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain federal cybersecurity systems ensuring compliance with NIST standards
- Implement and monitor security protocols for classified and unclassified data networks
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on federal IT infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-agency teams on incident response and threat mitigation
- Develop and document security policies, procedures, and technical documentation
- Provide Tier-3 technical support for complex IT systems and user issues
- Stay current on evolving cyber threats and defensive technologies
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required for federal position
- Minimum 5 years experience in IT security or federal systems administration
- Active Security+ CE or CISSP certification mandatory
- Experience with FedRAMP and NIST 800-53 compliance frameworks
- Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance (if not already held)
- Strong analytical skills and experience with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation
