Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain health information systems to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
- Implement and optimize electronic health record systems for improved patient care.
- Provide technical support and training to staff on health IT systems.
- Collaborate with IT and healthcare teams to integrate technology solutions.
- Ensure data security and privacy in accordance with HIPAA and VA policies.
- Conduct system testing and troubleshooting to resolve issues promptly.
- Stay updated on emerging health IT trends and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in health IT or related field.
- Knowledge of federal regulations (HIPAA, VA policies).
- Experience with electronic health record systems (e.g., VistA).
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Preferred: Certification in health information management (e.g., RHIT, RHIA).
