Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize veteran medical records in accordance with federal standards
- Process health information requests with 24-hour turnaround
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and data security protocols
- Coordinate with clinical teams for accurate documentation
- Train staff on electronic health record systems
- Audit records for completeness and regulatory compliance
- Support VA medical research initiatives through data management
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Health Information Management or related field
- 2+ years medical records experience in federal healthcare
- Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA) or RHIT preferred
- Expertise in VA Vist EHR system
- Proficient in ICD-10/CPT coding
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- U.S. citizenship and background clearance required
