Responsibilities
- Analyze complex pension fund data to ensure actuarial soundness and strict regulatory compliance.
- Review and approve pension benefit claims and eligibility determinations in accordance with federal guidelines.
- Prepare detailed performance reports for agency leadership and oversight committees.
- Collaborate with external actuaries and legal counsel to interpret ERISA regulations and new legislation.
- Manage the processing of pension disbursements with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
- Conduct internal audits of pension plan documentation to mitigate risk and ensure transparency.
- Provide expert guidance to employees regarding pension rights and benefit options.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in pension administration, retirement planning, or federal government service.
- Deep knowledge of ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act) and the Internal Revenue Code.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and enterprise database management systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presenting technical information.
- Ability to pass a background check and obtain a Secret clearance if required.
