Responsibilities
- Analyze and calculate pension benefits under the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) and Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS).
- Review retirement applications and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal regulations.
- Provide expert guidance to federal employees regarding retirement eligibility, survivor benefits, and healthcare options.
- Conduct data quality assurance checks on pension processing systems to minimize errors.
- Collaborate with HR teams and actuaries to resolve complex pension discrepancies.
- Prepare detailed reports on pension trends and processing metrics for management review.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Human Resources, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in pension administration, actuarial science, or federal benefits processing.
- Strong understanding of FERS, CSRS, and Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) regulations is highly preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, vlookups) and pension software.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee data.
- Ability to work independently and communicate complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
