Responsibilities
- Manage complex federal pension plan operations including benefit calculations, distributions, and record-keeping
- Ensure strict adherence to federal regulations (ERISA, TSP, OPM guidelines)
- Provide expert guidance to federal employees regarding retirement planning and pension options
- Analyze pension data to identify trends and recommend process improvements
- Collaborate with HR departments and financial institutions on pension administration
- Conduct audits and compliance reviews for pension plan components
- Develop educational materials for federal employee retirement workshops
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, HR, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years' experience in pension/benefits administration
- Deep knowledge of federal retirement systems (FERS, CSRS) and ERISA compliance
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in pension software (e.g., PeopleSoft, Oracle)
- Excellent communication skills for employee consultations and stakeholder presentations
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, SHRM-SCP) highly desirable
- Ability to obtain and maintain federal security clearance
