Responsibilities
- Oversee compliance of California-based pension plans with federal ERISA regulations
- Conduct comprehensive audits of retirement fund operations and financial reporting
- Develop educational materials for public sector employers on pension best practices
- Collaborate with state regulators to harmonize federal and California pension requirements
- Investigate and resolve complex pension plan discrepancies and compliance issues
- Prepare detailed analytical reports for senior leadership and congressional oversight
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of pension plan administration or ERISA compliance experience
- Active Series 7 and Series 63 securities licenses (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, IRS Section 401(k), and California pension regulations
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Empower)
- Proven track record of managing complex financial compliance projects
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain federal security clearance
