Responsibilities
- Manage and administer federal pension plans, ensuring full compliance with ERISA and federal regulations.
- Calculate retirement benefits, survivor annuities, and deferred compensation accurately.
- Review and process pension applications and claims documentation for validity.
- Conduct internal audits of pension records to ensure data integrity and regulatory adherence.
- Provide expert consultation to federal employees regarding retirement options and plan details.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date databases of pension records and beneficiary information.
- Collaborate with external actuaries and financial partners to ensure plan sustainability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Human Resources Administration.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in benefits administration, specifically within the federal or government sector.
- Deep knowledge of pension laws, tax codes, and federal retirement systems (e.g., FERS, CSRS).
- Strong analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy in mathematical computations.
- Proficiency in HRIS software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
