Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations and calculation of Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) and Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) pension benefits.
- Analyze employee personnel files to determine eligibility for retirement and calculate final pension estimates accurately.
- Provide expert guidance and counseling to federal employees regarding retirement options, survivor benefits, and health insurance continuation.
- Ensure strict compliance with OPM (Office of Personnel Management) regulations, internal policies, and federal guidelines.
- Review and process retirement applications and related documentation with high accuracy and minimal error.
- Collaborate with internal legal and compliance teams to address complex pension discrepancies and legal inquiries.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all pension transactions and communicate status updates to applicants in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pension administration, benefits management, or federal HR operations.
- Deep understanding of FERS, CSRS, and federal retirement laws is highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for complex data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.
- High level of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be a US Citizen and eligible for a government security clearance.
