Responsibilities
- Administer federal pension plans including TSP, FERS, and CSRS systems
- Conduct audits of retirement plans to ensure ERISA and IRS compliance
- Process complex retirement claims and benefit calculations
- Develop training materials for federal agencies on pension regulations
- Collaborate with OPM and Treasury on policy implementation
- Manage participant inquiries with empathy and technical precision
- Analyze pension data for fiduciary risk assessment
- Represent the department in stakeholder meetings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, HR, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration experience
- SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or QKA certification preferred
- Expertise in ERISA, IRS 401(k), and federal retirement regulations
- Advanced proficiency in pension software (e.g., Millennium, FIS)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Clear communication skills for complex financial concepts
- Ability to obtain and maintain federal security clearance
