Responsibilities
- Calculate and process federal pension benefits accurately according to established regulations and guidelines.
- Conduct thorough reviews of employee service records to determine eligibility for retirement and pension plans.
- Provide expert customer service and guidance to federal employees and retirees regarding pension inquiries.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal laws, OPM regulations, and agency policies regarding retirement planning.
- Prepare detailed reports and correspondence regarding pension status and calculations.
- Collaborate with other HR departments to resolve complex retirement issues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in federal HR databases.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pension administration, payroll, or federal human resources.
- Strong mathematical aptitude and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Knowledge of the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) or similar pension structures is highly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with senior leadership and the public.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and attention to detail in high-pressure environments.
