Responsibilities
- Manage and administer federal pension plans with meticulous attention to compliance with ERISA and OPM regulations
- Conduct complex benefit calculations, eligibility determinations, and retirement projections
- Develop and implement process improvements for pension plan operations and documentation
- Collaborate with legal and financial teams to resolve intricate pension disputes and audits
- Train federal employees on pension benefits, retirement planning, and enrollment procedures
- Generate comprehensive reports on plan performance, funding status, and regulatory adherence
- Oversee data integrity in pension management systems and ensure accurate record-keeping
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in pension plan administration, federal benefits, or retirement services
- Deep knowledge of federal pension regulations (ERISA, OPM, TSP) and compliance protocols
- Advanced proficiency in pension management software (e.g., PeopleSoft, Oracle HCM)
- Strong analytical skills with experience in benefit calculations and financial modeling
- Excellent written communication abilities for policy documentation and stakeholder reporting
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, QKA, or CFP) highly desirable
- Active security clearance or ability to obtain one
