Responsibilities
- Administer and interpret federal pension regulations (ERISA, TPAF) for multi-state employer plans
- Conduct benefit audits, ensure compliance with IRS/DOE reporting requirements
- Manage pension fund disbursements and resolve complex participant inquiries
- Collaborate with legal teams on fiduciary duty investigations and corrective actions
- Develop retirement education materials and conduct employer compliance training
- Oversee plan terminations and asset reversion processes under federal guidelines
- Generate regulatory reports for DOL and Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, HR, or related field; relevant certifications (CEBS, QPA) preferred
- 5+ years of pension plan administration experience with federal/multi-employer plans
- Expert knowledge of ERISA, IRS 5500 filings, and PBGC regulations
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Benefitfocus)
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex plan documents and legal statutes
- Ability to manage high-volume compliance audits and corrective action plans
- Excellent written communication for regulatory reporting and participant communications
- Active federal security clearance or ability to obtain one within 90 days
