Responsibilities
- Administer defined benefit pension plans for 50,000+ state employees and retirees
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS regulations, and Tennessee state statutes
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and member inquiries
- Collaborate with investment teams to monitor fund performance and actuarial valuations
- Develop educational materials and conduct retirement planning workshops
- Manage pension system databases and generate regulatory reports
- Represent the department in audits and benefit disputes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration experience
- SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or CEBS certification preferred
- Expertise in ERISA, IRS 415/416 regulations, and Tennessee pension laws
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and pension administration software
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong written/verbal communication skills with diverse stakeholders
