Responsibilities
- Administer federal pension plans including CSRS, FERS, and TSP with strict regulatory compliance
- Analyze complex retirement benefit calculations and eligibility requirements for diverse federal workforce
- Develop and implement strategic pension policy improvements aligned with federal mandates
- Collaborate with OPM leadership and agency HR partners to resolve retirement benefit disputes
- Conduct comprehensive audits of pension records to ensure accuracy and financial accountability
- Provide expert guidance to federal retirees on benefit options, survivor benefits, and retirement planning
- Prepare detailed reports on pension fund performance and actuarial projections for congressional review
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in pension plan administration or federal benefits management
- Advanced knowledge of federal retirement regulations (CSRS/FERS), TSP, and OPM guidelines
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, PBGC, or SHRM-SCP) strongly preferred
- Expert analytical skills with pension calculation software (e.g., FIS, Ceridian)
- Exceptional communication abilities for explaining complex benefits to diverse stakeholders
- Proven experience with federal financial reporting systems (e.g., MAXHR, HRIS)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
