Responsibilities
- Analyze and calculate pension benefits for federal employees, ensuring accuracy in FERS and CSRS retirement projections.
- Consult with clients regarding immediate hire options, survivor benefits, and pension payout strategies.
- Oversee the preparation and audit of pension actuarial reports and regulatory documentation.
- Collaborate with internal legal teams to interpret and apply changing federal pension laws.
- Manage a high volume of client inquiries regarding retirement eligibility and fund disbursement.
- Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency in pension plan administration.
Qualifications
- Masterβs degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
- Certified Pension Actuary (CPA) or FERS/CSRS Specialist certification is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in federal pension administration or actuarial consulting.
- Deep knowledge of OPM (Office of Personnel Management) regulations and federal retirement systems.
- Exceptional analytical skills with proficiency in data modeling and spreadsheet software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for client-facing presentations.
