Responsibilities
- Administer federal pension plans (FERS/CSRS) ensuring compliance with OPM regulations and agency policies
- Review and process retirement applications, calculating benefits with precision and accuracy
- Conduct audits and compliance checks to identify and resolve discrepancies in pension records
- Develop and implement pension policy improvements aligned with federal legislative changes
- Collaborate with HR departments and oversight agencies to resolve complex pension inquiries
- Prepare comprehensive reports for management and congressional stakeholders
- Maintain secure electronic pension databases and ensure data integrity
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in pension plan administration, federal benefits, or retirement systems
- Expert knowledge of federal pension regulations (ERISA, TSP, FERS/CSRS)
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software and data analysis tools
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for complex benefit calculations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder interactions
- Federal government clearance or ability to obtain Secret clearance
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, SHRM-SCP) highly valued
