Responsibilities
- Perform accurate calculations for federal pension benefits and survivor annuities using approved actuarial tables.
- Review and process retirement applications, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant.
- Provide clear, empathetic, and detailed retirement counseling to federal employees and retirees.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive financial and personal data in accordance with privacy laws.
- Ensure all pension records and beneficiary designations comply with Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) regulations.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Legal teams to resolve complex benefit inquiries and discrepancies.
- Stay updated on changes to federal retirement legislation and internal policy updates.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in pension administration, retirement planning, or actuarial science.
- Familiarity with FERS, CSRS, or similar federal retirement systems is highly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel for data analysis.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with an unwavering commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to individuals with varying levels of literacy.
