Responsibilities
- Pension & Retirement Analysis: Perform accurate calculations for federal pension estimates, including FERS and CSRS components, ensuring all figures align with current OPM regulations.
- Employee Counseling: Conduct detailed consultations with federal employees to explain retirement eligibility, survivor benefits, and pension payout options.
- Plan Administration: Manage the day-to-day administration of pension plans, ensuring timely processing of applications and benefit verifications.
- Record Keeping: Maintain secure and confidential electronic and physical records for all pension cases, adhering to strict federal privacy standards.
- Compliance Reporting: Assist in the preparation of compliance reports and audits related to pension plan operations and participant data.
- System Management: Utilize HRIS and pension administration software to update employee status and track benefit milestones.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Human Resources, or Business Administration is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in federal benefits, pension administration, or HR with a focus on retirement plans.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of FERS, CSRS, TSP, and federal retirement eligibility rules is mandatory.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with HRIS platforms (e.g., SAP, Workday, Oracle).
- Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical abilities, and the capacity to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to non-experts.
