Responsibilities
- Administer and monitor federal pension plans ensuring strict adherence to ERISA and OPM regulations
- Process retirement applications, benefit calculations, and pension disbursements with 99.9% accuracy
- Conduct comprehensive audits of pension fund investments and actuarial reports
- Provide expert guidance to federal employees on retirement planning and pension eligibility
- Collaborate with legal teams to resolve complex pension disputes and compliance issues
- Generate detailed financial reports and compliance documentation for congressional oversight
- Train federal agency personnel on pension plan administration best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of pension administration or benefits management experience
- Federal HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, PHR) or willingness to obtain within 6 months
- Proficiency with HRIS systems and pension administration software (e.g., PeopleSoft, Oracle HCM)
- Deep understanding of federal retirement systems (FERS, CSRS) and ERISA regulations
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to complex financial data
- Ability to work independently and make critical decisions with minimal supervision
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
