Responsibilities
- Analyze and calculate federal pension benefits using strict OPM guidelines and internal protocols.
- Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions with federal employees regarding retirement eligibility, survivor benefits, and healthcare options.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal regulations, tax codes, and internal company policies.
- Prepare and review retirement applications, beneficiary designations, and required correspondence.
- Assist in the administration of pension plans, including data entry, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior staff on complex pension topics and system updates.
- Collaborate with the legal team to resolve complex pension disputes and claims.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in federal benefits administration or pension management.
- Deep knowledge of the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS), CSRS, and GS pay scales.
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail when handling sensitive financial data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client-facing interactions.
- Certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR, FPC) is a strong plus.
