Responsibilities
- Analyze federal employee service records to determine eligibility for pension benefits under FERS and CSRS guidelines.
- Calculate monthly retirement annuities with precision, considering factors such as high-3 average salary and years of service.
- Provide expert consultation to employees regarding retirement options, survivor benefits, and health insurance continuation.
- Prepare, review, and process all necessary documentation for pension applications and adjustments efficiently.
- Ensure strict confidentiality of sensitive personnel and financial data in accordance with federal regulations.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Payroll departments to ensure seamless integration of pension data.
- Stay updated on changes in federal retirement legislation and update internal processes accordingly.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
- Proven experience working with or calculating Federal Employee Retirement System (FERS) or Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS).
- Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to manage large datasets with high accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conducting client-facing consultations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with HRIS or pension software is highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative team spirit in a fast-paced environment.
